Hello, I do not know if this is the right forum for this but the next time you do a listener a listener response could you address Professor Claire Jean Kim's upcoming book regarding Asian Americans and anti-blackness? I really liked Professor Ngai's response at the end with regards to the argument that anti-blackness is the main crux of racism, which Kim has been pushing for years. I know both Jay and Andy have been very critical of the response to the whole "letters to my racist parents" and the quick response to try to condemn Tou Thao, which Kim also has been a champion of. I have a major issue with how Kim's arguments on the centrality of anti-blackness as it's own separate structure and her arguments about Asian American privilege (such as her arguing that Asian American invisibility is a good thing because it shows they are assimilated, and that efforts to highlight it are inherently anti-black because it allows the white establishment to sidestep structural critiques of anti-blackness) are accepted and often cited virtually unchallenged within Asian American Studies. You two were pretty much the only critiques I have seen of this strange desire for respectability by Asian Americans to prove they haven't been contaminated by the racism of their parents/Thao and other refugees.

Great episode! As a diasporic Chinese, I learned a lot from your convo with Prof. Ngai.
