As to the conversation… one thing that stood out to me that no one mentioned is the Right, meaning the conservative right’s need to undermine trans and gay and any other progressive movement’s truth because every time a new reality is introduced into the public sphere, that “new” truth undermine’s the God story, the story of his omnipotence, his right-ness, his all knowing-ness.
I live in a place where everybody is “blessing” your day all day long and I can tell you that folks are fundamentally opposed to anything that does not align with the story they’ve been told. I mean, that’s true for all of us! But for some of us the only thing that stands in the way of a deeper understanding of life is just hearing, seeing, reading about it’s existence. So your conversation today deepened my own understanding.
